Discovering Your Roots
I can provide a bespoke tour to suit your interests. Most come in small family groups, often in a self drive car. However using my local knowledge, much additional benefit can be derived for as well as visiting places, I can seek out people with a real knowledge of their locality and often they have a story to tell about the visitors’ ancestors. For those without their own transport, collection at the airport can be arranged. For example I had a group from the United States who based themselves in Omagh. I collected them at Dublin and drove to Omagh, visiting Newgrange at the Boyne on the way. During the week I took the group on day trips to Belfast, North Coast (including Giant’s Causeway, Bushmills Distillery and Derry City) as well as visits to Ulster American Folk Park and tracing their ancestors in Tyrone. I delivered them to Dublin two days before their flight in order for them to have time to explore Dublin.
In addition to providing a walking tour of Derry and Omagh, I provide a tour of Tyrone and Fermanagh taking in its scenic beauty and historical sights. I also accompany groups to Belfast and Armagh to uncover their community and their history. Contact me for an itinerary to suit your interests and of your ancestors.
